Lounge on the Farm Festival, Canterbury
Three Miles North of Molkom Screening in the Groovy Movie Picture Hoouse at Lounge on the Farm 2009
For the third year running, the Groovy Movie Picture House was at Lounge on the Farm near Canterbury, in July. This is proving to be a resounding favorite festival for the Solar cinema crew. A quirky mixture of quality live music, Djs, performance, the best selection of fine foods of any festival, and freshy baked Portugeese Natta cakes. Fantastic. A great mixed crowd too. Lots of old psychedelic Canterbury Scenesters, and lots of bright young things. Musical Highlights included Mr Scruff, Gong, Billy Nasty and Scroobius Pip. This really is a wonderful little festival - Small but lively, eclectic, independent, non branded, non corporate and great fun. If youv'e not been - go. If you dont go you are missing out!
The Groovy Movie Picture House was packed every night, screening the premiere of the Canterbury Scene Film, evening presentations of Three Miles North of Molkom and Sita Sings the Blues, and a rocking late show Video Cabaret, featuring live video remixing, mashups and cheeky reedits such as Cassetteboy vs the apprentice. Hattie Hatstar performed her award winning multimedia musical comedy show, with her funny songs, catchy accordion and ukelele and lots of big screen trickery.  Saturday and sunday afternoons saw matinee screenings for kids and a special presentations of Moonwalk 1, the NASA Apollo 11 film, to mark the 40th aniversary of the first Moon landing.
