Folkwoods Festival - Eindhoven NL
Three Miles North of Molkom Screening in the Groovy Movie Picture Hoouse at Lounge on the Farm 2009
Our second event in Holland was the Folkwoods Festival. This is held in one of the oldest parks in Eindhoven, and offers three days and nights of diverse folk and world music. The Groovy Movie returned to Folkwoods for the third time. The festival is small, and very well organised. The bars sell a fine selection of Belgiun Trappist beers, in real glasses!
The festival organisers programed a wide range of events for us to host. Local bands played in the tent and poets from Eindhoven and Amsterdam held poerty slams. Children were entertained in the daytime with kids music sessions, and performances by the famous Dutch clown Mario van Earp. There was a special screening of Heartland, introduced by the filmmakers, and a live interview with Adrian Edmunson from the Lost Shepherds. Hattie Hatstar closed the event with a storming gig in the Solar Cinema, to a packed audience who did not want to leave.
